The First Day
I guess this would officially be my first day as a new army wife. I don't feel different, just proud and excited. I cried after I dropped him off yesterday,5 weeks is a long time. The longest we've been apart is a week in 8 years! This morning he was sworn in and signed his contract. When he told me I was overwhelmed. The whole process of joining was exhausting emotionally and kept me in a fog for a few months. I guess hearing he was really in the army and this was starting was the first thing that felt real in this process. I'm so excited!!!
Caleb is going to WTC for previous military instead of boot camp. Caleb has spent the morning telling people at meps that he is going to the transition center. Everyone thought he had PTSD and had just come back from Iraq and was going to have to go to a transitional PTSD center. Of course everyone thought Caleb was "crazy"
The next time I talk to him he should be in Oklahoma and then I'll wake up and it will be day two of my life as a new army wife
